Our Story

In 2023, Tencent's SSV Division organized a public service experience for high school students, in which four of our team members took part in an activity in which the high school students took on the role of tour guides, leading families with visually impaired members to experience and learn about the contents of the museum in its entirety. As the activity progressed, the four of us encountered different difficulties of the blind group in the exhibition in different groups.

Image & Object Recognition

Blind people cannot perceive the shapes, colors and materials of artifacts visually, and the museum did not provide corresponding physical replicas to help them navigate

Navigation

There are almost no paved blind alleys in the museums, which makes it completely impossible for a blind person to make a tour of the museum on their own. There is accessibility but the toilets are very deep and not accessible to the blind

Text OCR

The annotations of the exhibits in the museum are not equipped with explanations for the blind, which makes it impossible for the blind to understand the history and significance of the artifacts without our accompanying explanations

Dual Obstacle Avoidance

There are a lot of children in the museum on weekends, and they move very fast, which makes it difficult for the blind to walk under this circumstance, and they are afraid of being bumped into and hurt

In order to make the everyday lives of the blind more accessible to the general public, safer, and more convenient for the purpose of establishing SenSyn, we took the initiative after this incident to get in touch with a blind family and learn more about their background (daily travel). Due to the height of the bumps, he sometimes accidentally bumped into the signage causing stitches in the head. This year, we introduced our first-generation product, Senbot V1.
